History

FBC has been ministering in the Watsonville community since the early 1900s. In 1914, the church was officially organized with 25 charter members with its first building located on the corner of 5th and Lincoln streets, which still stands today.

As years passed property was purchased in the surrounding neighborhood. A parsonage was added and later in the early 1940s construction began toward a newer and larger facility across the street in what is now FBC's current location. For several years, worship services were held in the basement until the worship center was completed. The entire building was constructed by volunteer labor and the vision and determination of the congregation. The facility was completed in 1952 under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Ralph Kraft.

We honor the legacy and sacrifice of those who came before us and desire to be a positive influence for Christ's kingdom in the community in the years to come.
